Nintendo announced amiibo functionality in Zelda Breath of the Wild via their Tumbler account today. The Legend of Zelda 30th Anniversary amiibo are available in stores today, which we’re originally announced back in September. Each of the 30th Anniversary Zelda amiibos can be used in the upcoming Zelda: Breath of the Wild to unlock special items in the game. When scanning one of the special anniversary amiibos you even have a chance to receive a treasure chest with a rare item. Each anniversary amiibo offers something different, see the breakdown below.

  • 8-bit Link – Gives you a random number of barrels, you may find rupees inside.
  • Ocarina of Time Link will provide you with a random amount of meat.
  • Toon Link will reward you with a random number of fish.
  • Wind Waker Zelda (Toon Zelda) will reward you with a random number / selection of plants.
