Nintendo Announces Mini Famicom For Japanese Market

Over the weekend Nintendo announced the Mini Famicom for the Japanese market. Similar to the NES Classic Edition, the Mini Famicom is a miniature replica of a 1980’s Japanese Famicom (which stands for Family Computer). The Famicom was the Japnese version of the American Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The micro version of the Famicom system includes 30 different games like the NES Classic Edition, but some of the games are different. The system includes the 3 different graphical output options similar to the NES Classic Edition mentioned earlier this week.

The Mini Famicom includes 2 controllers just like the original Japanese Famicom console. This is a plus for Japanese customers, as Americans will have to purchase additional controllers or use an existing Wii or Wii Classic controller.
