Nintendo and City Dads Group along with the Los Angeles Public Library put together a level-design workshop on January 27th, 2017. The focus of the workshop was to bring an interactive “Build, Play, Share” to the Los Angeles Public Library. The focus of the City Dads Group is to help find different ways for dads to engage with their children in new and encouraging ways. The idea that gaming can bring families closer together works well with a brand like Nintendo. The family friendly nature of many of Nintendo’s top tier franchises makes the partnership with the City Dads Group a good fit. Participants learned how to build virtual courses for Super Mario Maker for the Nintendo 3DS. Game-design experts from Nintendo lent their expertise to the attendees, who we’re able to design their own courses using the intuitive tools of Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS.

“With the recent national push for more STEM programs for children in schools, partnering with City Dads Group and the Los Angeles Public Library was a great opportunity to highlight the level-design capabilities of Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “This exciting event helped introduce a new playtime activity for the digital era that families can enjoy together.”
