GameStop chief operating officer Tony Bartel told investors a little bit about the Nintendo Switch’s current success in the video game giant’s chain of stores.
“The demand is incredible strong… As soon as we get it into stores, it’s out within hours… We anticipate that we’ll be chasing supply this entire year”.
For over a year now GameStop has been building confidence among investors by pointing to the Switch as a breath of fresh air, that would reinvigorate the industry. While its to soon to tell if the Switch will see mainstream success it does seem to be off to a good strart. For instance, a recent report by SuperData suggests that the Switch has already sold 1.5 million systems worldwide.
