During today’s Nintendo Direct new Zelda amiibos we’re announced. The new amiibos feature Link and the princess Zelda, and cover different generations including 8-bit, Ocarina of Time and Windwaker. The new Zelda Amiibo figurines will be available on December 2nd, 2016. The new wave of Zelda amiibos are being released in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Zelda franchise. Nintendo is doing a few different things in celebration of the 30th year anniversary. During the Nintendo Direct we saw previews for a Skyward Sword release on the Wii U’s eShop, more information on the The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts book which includes over 2,000 illustrations, and new updates to the 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors. Nintendo’s Official Announcement For 30th Anniversary Zelda Amiibos
This holiday season Nintendo will release four special amiibo figures: 8-Bit Link, Ocarina of Time Link and a two-pack that includes both Toon Link and Zelda from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. These amiibo will work the same as Super Smash Bros. series Link, Toon Link and Zelda amiibo, and will also have special functionality in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild when it launches next year.
