My Joy-Con Controller Is Not Working

Not sure whats wrong, but my Joy-Con is responding properly. I'm trying to play Mario Odyssey, but Mario keeps moving even when I'm not pressing on the joysticks. Not sure if my Joy-Cons are defective. I've had my Switch since it launched back in March. Anyone else have this issue?
