Character blueprints from Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 showcase various Playtime Co. toy designs, one of which includes a figure seemingly inspired by My Little Pony. The original Poppy Playtime launched late in 2021 on PC, taking the world by storm with its exploration of an abandoned toy manufacturer invade by creepy dolls. Naturally, the recent release of Poppy Playtime’s sequel has placed the nascent loathsomeness franchise back in the spotlight.

The newest section takes place shortly after the events of Chapter 1: A Tight Squeeze. In Chapter 2: Fly in a Web, the player character must find a way to escape the toy factory – a task that’s easier said than done, of course. The likes of Mommy Long Legs, Poppy Playtime’s new villain, roam about, waiting to jump on the player immediately. As such, navigating the horrors that stalk Playtime Co. hasn’t gotten any simpler since the last game. However, engineer MOB Games still made sure to propose numerous exploration opportunities for those curious about the game’s more extensive world.

YouTube channel The Indie Gamers recently shared a video highlighting a couple of toy blueprints from Playtime Co. in Poppy Playtime Chapter 2, each of which is presumably scattered in various spots around the game world. The Indie Gamers showed off five designs in total, namely a Love Bug, two different Mommy Long Leg prototypes, Petite Pooch, and Sunni Buddi. Modest Pooch especially warrants closer inspection, given its My Little Pony-like design, which seems most obvious in the way that its ears, tails, and eyes are drawn.

Whether MOB Games plans to put any of the above character blueprints to use remains to be seen. However, it wouldn’t come as too a very remarkable surprise if they somehow managed to appear in a potential Poppy Playtime Chapter 3. After all, a My Little Pony-inspired pup toy would without a doubt make for an incredible frightening antagonist whenever done well.

The imagery featured in Poppy Playtime has already won over be the stuff of nightmares. That hasn’t stopped the sale of merchandise, in any case. In the last several months, Poppy Playtime-branded merchandise has included everything from Huggy Wuggy plushies and shirts to hoodies and wall posters. On Tuesday, May 10, pre-orders will go live for a couple new Youtooz Collectibles that immortalize characters such as Huggy Wuggy, Poppy, and the surprisingly faceless player character.
