Announced earlier this year and showcased at E3 2019, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is coming to the Nintendo Switch in less than a year. Nintendo provided a variety of demonstrations during E3, via its Nintendo Live Treehouse event. Today the publisher released details on Animal Crossing New Horizons on its website. Here’s some of the main details concerning the latest installment in the Animal Crossing series.
What is the release date for Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
Nintendo announced that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is set with a tentative release date scheduled for March 20th, 2020. This is just an estimated release date, as Nintendo specified that the date could change depending on the game’s development progress.
How many players does Animal Crossing: New Horizons support?
Up to 8 players can visit and explore a player’s island, using online or local wireless. According to Nintendo’s official statement, “up to four residents living on the same island can play together together at the same time in local multiplayer on a single system by sharing Joy-Con controllers”.
What does the Nook Phone do?
You’ll receive it once you reach the deserted island. The Nook Phone contains many different apps, which you can use to get Recipes, crafting ideas and other details on the island and your characters progress.
Do you get a house in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
The simple answer is we’re not sure. While houses can be seen in Nintendo’s official trailer for New Horizons, details on home and houses we’re absent from Nintendo’s presentation. The villagers are seen setting up tents and building their campsites, but in terms of details on homes Nintendo didn’t provide any. This doesn’t mean you’ll be mortgage free, as Nook is seen giving one of the villagers a bill towards the end of the trailer.
