Nintendo announced the release date for Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, which is now scheduled to release in North America on January 20th, 2017. This comes only a few months after the release of Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. Dragon Quest 8, which originally released on the PlayStation 2 is getting a fresh coat of paint, 2 new playable characters and more side quests and monsters to battle. The story begins with a jester named Dhoulmagus, who steals the local King’s sceptre. Using the King’s sceptre the jester Dhoulmagus turns the King into a troll, the Princess into a horse and the other castle members into plants. One guard escapes the jester’s curse and must figure out a way to save the kingdom.
