Nintendo announces Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World amiibo functionality, pricing, special bunlde and game modes.
Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World for the Nintendo 3DS will be available as either a limited edition bundle or as a standalone game. The limited edition version will come bundled with a Yarn Poochy amiibo, and will be priced at $49.99. The standalone version of the game will be sold for $39.99. The Nintendo provided additional details on the 3DS version, including amiibo functionality. The special Yarn Poochy amiibo figure can be tapped on the 3DS to provide extra support to any stage in the game. Additional timed challenges are also unlocked when using the Yarn Poochy amiibo, which once complete reward the player with new designs for Poochy. The special Yarn Poochy will also be sold separately for those who just want the amiibo, priced at $16.99.
Nintendo also elaborated on other amiibo functionality for Poochy & Yoshi’s Whooly World. For instance Animal Crossing and Splatoon series amiibo can unlock new patterns for Yoshi. No list of all supported amiibo figurines we’re given.
On top of six worlds Nintendo also added a new mode called Craft Yoshi. Using this mode players can design their own patterned Yoshi. Craft Yoshi includes a variety of powerful tools to help in detailing a player’s Yoshi with many different possibilities. To also extend the value and separate Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World from the Wii U’s version the 3DS version will unlock one new animated short starring the game’s characters – Yoshi & Poochy.
