Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS is off to a solid start, having sold over 500,000 units in its first month. According to estimates posted on VgChartz.com, the game sold 199,146 in Europe, 161,445 in Japan and 128,531 in North America, for a grand total of 529,141 units sold. These figures cover the period of December 1st – December 31st, with Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS releasing first in Japan. In comparision the Wii U version sold about the same in it’s first week, passing 500,000 units sold for Nintendo’s struggling home console.
