We’re converting a spare room into a home office and I’ve realised there aren’t enough outlets in there for everything we need, plus the existing ones are on the same circuit as half the house so I’m nervous about overloading it. I’m wondering whether adding a dedicated circuit is a straightforward job or if it means tearing into walls and rewiring half the house. I came across https://kitchenbathpaloalto.com/locations/palo-alto/electrician while looking into it, but I’d rather understand the scope before I get anyone out. Has anyone added a new circuit for a similar reason, and did it involve a lot of disruption? Also, roughly what should I expect to pay, since I have no frame of reference for this kind of work. I’d rather know what’s normal than just accept the first quote.
