I started getting calls from Performant Recovery a little while ago, and I made the mistake of answering a few times. The caller is very pushy and keeps pressuring me to make a payment, but when I asked them to send me something in writing proving I owe this debt, they got really evasive. I never received any validation letter in the mail, which I think I’m legally entitled to. They just keep calling from numbers like 866-256-0057. It feels like harassment, but I don’t even know if this debt is legitimate or too old for them to collect on. Has anyone else dealt with them refusing to provide proof? Looking for any guidance.
