Nintendo Confirms Super Mario Cereal, Available December 11th

Super Mario Cereal

Over the last week we’ve been writing about the rumor of a Super Mario Cereal being produced by Kellogg’s. Today Nintendo confirmed the rumor, and provided some details about the cereal box’s included amiibo functionality. For starters the cereal will start showing up on store shelves on December 11th, 2017. The cereal box acts as an amiibo according to Nintendo. Tap the cereal box on a Nintendo Switch (like you do with regular amiibos) and you’ll receive gold coins or a heart in Super Mario Odyssey. The cereal’s power-up marshmallows are complimented by a mixed berry flavor. According to Nintendo the cereal box is a limited and won’t be available for long.

“This powered-up partnership with Kellogg’s is another exciting way for us to expand the Nintendo brand in unique and creative ways,” said Tom Prata, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. “We are always looking for new opportunities to bring smiles to people of all ages, and this is a fun way to kick off the day.”
