Today Ubisoft announced a new Versus Mode makings its way into Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle on the Nintendo Switch. The new versus mode takes on a new perspective on classic PvP multiplayer, giving owners of the game a way to play with actual people and not just the AI. The versus mode is free DLC to anyone who’s purchased Mario + Rabbids on the Switch. In versus mode, players choose characters to build a three-hero squad. Players then go head-to-head on one of the available maps. Two players can enjoy versus mode using a pair of Joy-Cons. This isn’t an online multiplayer mode just in case you we’re wondering.
Selectable characters are evenly matched. You don’t use your leveled-up characters from the campaign, but instead get to choose from pre-designed characters – leveled-up to make team selection as fair as possible. Players will fight out battles in the standard way seen in the campaign mode. Plenty of strategy can be deployed, with tons of power-ups and strategic locations available.
