50 New Animal Crossing amiibo Cards Coming Soon!

On December 2nd Nintendo will release 50 new amiibo cards in response to Animal Crossing New Leaf – Welcome amiibo. These 50 new cards will feature characters from past Animal Crossing games, and each character will have their own RV.

Animal Crossing New Leaf Campground

The entire Nintendo Direct was hosted by a hippy looking character sitting at a campground somewhere. RVs and campgrounds were explained for the Welcome amiibo update. Once you receive the update you’ll notice a new area in your town, called the campground. Here you can interact will special villagers/guests and experience new ways to shop for your villager. You’ll also meet a character called Harvey, who is the go-to-guy for all things campground. Nintendo (or the Nintendo Direct Harvey look-a-like) also stated that other non-Animal Crossing amiibos can be scanned via the 3DS. For instance, you can use the Inklings from Splatoon and Wolf Link from Zelda Twilight Princess HD.

Desert Island Escape & Animal Crossing Puzzle League

An in-game Wii U console item can unlock a mini game called Desert Island Escape. You can also unlock a different mini game called Animal Crossing Puzzle League via an in-game New Nintendo 3DS XL items. These can both be obtained using fortune cookies at the Nooklings’ shop. You can also unlock the Wii U and New Nintendo 3DS XL items in Animal Crossing by scanning any of the 16 Animal Crossing amiibos.

Stuff that doesn’t need amiibos – Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo

The following features don’t require amiibo or amiibo Animal Crossing cards. The following updates/features are included in the Welcome amiibo update.

MEOW Coupons

By completing new daily or weekly Town Initiatives (like pulling a set number of weeds) you can earn MEOW (Mutual Exchange of Wealth) coupons. These special coupons unlock unique in-game items, which you can receive at the new campground or from visiting Animal Crossing characters.

Camera Features – Animal Crossing Selfies

Using the 3DS camera you can take in-game selfies with different Animal Crossing characters. These selfies can even be shared using the 3DS Image Share tool.

New Storeroom for You’re Villager House

You can add a new storeroom to your house by visiting Nook’s Homes. You’ll have to save up enough Bells, but the added storeroom will provide plenty of extra space to store all your different items obtained in the game. This storeroom can also be accessed from anywhere in your house, making inventory upkeep easier than ever.

Decorate With Ease

You can decorate or re-arrange furniture/items easily with the latest update. Simply use the Nintendo 3DS touchscreen to switch furniture and items around. This is much easier than positioning your villager to move everything.

Linking with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

The Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo update also brings a linking option to Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. You can select your Happy Home Designer data and unlock 20 giant furniture items to spend Bells on in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. This furniture is reportedly very big – so beware!
