Rumors have been bouncing all over the internet claiming that Nintendo is ending manufacturing of new Wii U systems. According to eurogamer.com sources Nintendo was scheduled to end production of the Wii U today (11/4/2016). A spokesperson at Nintendo told itmedia.co that this rumor is false, and that manufacturing/production of new Wii U consoles would continue. Translated by Kotaku.com, Nintendo had this to say about the production end for the Wii U.

There is no change to our continuing [Wii U] production. Even though the Nintendo Switch is slated to go on sale, [Wii U] production is scheduled to continue.

This is a reminder to gaming websites and new agencies, check your sources before you publish such misleading articles. For Wii U fans this is a sign that Nintendo will continue to support the Wii U, as Nintendo stated earlier this year.
