The Switch is getting three new Pokemon games in the form of Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! and Pokemon Quest. Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee both have gameplay inspired by the popular mobile app Pokemon GO. The two titles will also have additional functionality with Pokemon GO by allowing players to transfer Pokemon from their Pokemon GO game to one of the Switch’s new Pokemon games. Nintendo also disclosed that some additional surprises will be announced concerning functionality of Pokemon GO and the Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee games. On top of the games announcements Nintendo also made news by announcing the Poke Ball Plus device for both of the Pokemon: Let’s Go games. The release dates for both Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! is set for November 16th, 2018. The games will likely release in both retail (physical) & digital (eShop) forms.
Pokémon Quest is an action RPG which is already available on the Switch eShop. The game is free on the Switch eShop and features a mixture of RPG elements combined with strategy and adventure. The adventure takes place in Tumblecube Island, which features a cube art style.
Nintendo also mentioned that the next mainline game for the Pokémon series will release for the Nintendo Switch in late 2019. The next traditional (core) Pokemon games we’re mentioned first at E3 last year.
