Nintendo showed off a new original game in the form of Splatoon for the Wii U. A third person action shooter, Splatoon features a unique take on 3rd person shooters and multiplayer gameplay. Playing as squid-like characters called Inklings, players move around the map shooting globs of colored ink on as much territory and other team players as possible. Walking through your teams ink makes movement fast and easy, while trying to cross a section of map globed with enemy ink makes movement sluggish and difficult. The goal is cover as much of the map as possible you’re your Inklings color. Player’s will team-up and take on other players via Nintendo Network (4 vs. 4). Splatoon centers around strategy. Players will be able to easily see how well their team is doing by looking at the Wii U’s Gamepad. Covering the map with your team’s ink helps to unlock power-up super weapon and makes it easier to move around the map. Splatton is looking great, and is sure to become one of next year’s big Wii U games when it releases sometime in 2015.
