Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa Gives First Message to Investors

Nintendo’s new president Shuntaro Furukawa gave his first message to investors and shareholders via Nintendo’s corporate website. Shuntaro Furukawa replaced temporary Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima who retired back in April. Shuntaro’s first message to Nintendo investors and shareholders explained the company’s goals are to continue to support the success of the Switch along with creating more “opportunities for consumers to encounter Nintendo IP in their daily lives“.

Within our dedicated video game platform business, we will continue our efforts to introduce an even wider range of consumers to the unique appeal of Nintendo Switch, which can be played anytime, anywhere, with anyone. We will likewise work to continue providing software that can be enjoyed by a variety of consumers. In addition, we will work toward strengthening our digital business and building longer-term relationships with consumers through services such as Nintendo Switch Online.

Mr. Furukawa is inheriting one of the best positioned Nintendo’s in recent memory. With Mr. Kimishima’s hard work definetly evidedent in many of Nintendo’s top products (Switch, NES & SNES Classic Editions etc). Hopefully Mr. Furukawa will continue to focus on the areas that the late legendary Nintendo President Mr. Iwata and recently retired Nintendo President Mr. Kimishima decided as crucial for the Japanese company’s future.
