Will the Nintendo Switch be more powerful than the PS4 / Xbox One?

No word yet, but the likely answer is something close to a PS4 or Xbox One. Both Sony and Microsoft are launching upgraded versions of their current hardware, making us think that the Nintendo Switch is competitive with the current competition. Rumors for a long time have claimed that the Nintendo Switch would be as powerful as a Xbox One. NVIDIA recently announced that they’d be supplying the GPU and processor for the Nintendo Switch, which could mean that Nintendo is competing directly with graphics. Further evidence of the systems competitiveness comes by the reveal trailer, which showed many hardcore games being played, games that typically only release on the Xbox or PlayStation systems.

Back when Nintendo first started rolling out the Nintendo Network remarks we’re made on it’s longevity. Mr. Iwata (the president of Nintendo at the time) claimed that Nintendo hoped to operate and support the Nintendo Network for multiple console generations, starting with the Wii U & 3DS. Nintendo’s online community has been growing well over the years, and coupled with Miiverse could see renewed life on the Nintendo Switch. Considering how long it took Microsoft to brand Xbox Live I’d image Nintendo isn’t ready to pull the plug on it’s own gaming network.
